What are Mock interviews?
Mock Interviews are practice runs for Job Interviews, this would pretty much help anyone who would want to prepare for one in the future, there different ways you can do so using the traditional face to face meeting method, telephone call, or using face cams online via: Facetime, WhatsApp, Skype etc. If you are using a mobile device you should consider using a tripod to make the camera angle steady.
How to prepare for one?
To prepare for one you must always do the following things:
1. Dress Professionally: It is always best to dress appropriately for the occasion, I must show the best version of myself and do to that I got to look professional, it also makes me look more clean and hygienic if I wear a fresh professional looking outfit, it can be smart and casual or it can also be business formal.
2. Arrive Early to be on time: Arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your mock interview starts to ensure you are on time.
3. Bring essentials with you: Bring things such as your resume, essential items if traveling to mock interviews, you may also want to consider taking notes as well so make sure you got a pen and some paper ready or however else you are comfortable with in taking notes.
4. Look organized Just like bringing your essentials do interviews things such as video interviews would require your technology to be in order, have your camera steady and balanced, look presentable and avoid doing clumsy mistakes in front of the camera as much as possible as you will need to look like a professional.
5. Do your part in Research The best way to prepare for a mock interview is to view possible questions and learn how to respond to them but don't stress about it as they are mostly general questions that are the essentials when it comes to research, I should also consider researching on the client, the job, industry or the chosen company.
6. Confidence This part wasn't researched, that was just genuine experience as lack of confidence in social situations including presenting yourself to others can make you seem less ambitious or passionate, in a job interview if you don't show that you're more likely to be rejected, also one thing I would like to point out is to don't be too cocky as overconfidence is also not an essential need for an interview, overall just don't be too shy/nervous and do not be so full of yourself or grow a massive ego.
