Constucting a CV
In this post similar to my Personal Statement, I will demonstrate some research and show some drafts of my personal CV, then afterwards I will present the final product based of my feedback that is given Research is found at https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/careers-advice/cv-sections.
Why would I need a CV?
Mainly the whole reason to write one is so that I can show off all of my achievements, skills and experience to an employer based on the job of what I want. Employers will often ask for a CV instead of an application form but it depends on the employer as sometimes I might require both but a CV is more important to start off with.
This will be an opportunity for me to promote myself to the employer and allow me to get an interview if the CV is well done, once I get an interview it will open many gates to seeking and finding employment.
How to write a good CV?
A good CV should include lots of detail about myself including skills, qualifications, previous work and other experiences including volunteering and other relevant activities. It should also look clean and organized.
Contact details such as Name and address is a requirement as Employers will need to get in contact with me for example, before an interview when you sent them a CV and if they are interested in me, they will use these details to interview myself and perhaps even hire you if things go well.
Employers will often read through many CV's pretty quickly so it is important to make mine stand out, in order to do so I should do the following; Researching into the company and gain some basic knowledge about it and how my skills will be relevant to the company, using a clear font so it's bold enough and easy to read and make sure it is proof read including grammar spelling and punctuation etc.
Other CV Examples (Only ones I used as research):
Good CV
Bad CV
First Draft: My original design was done on PowerPoint since I found it easier to edit and make a unique design.
My Second Draft: This time I have made another draft through self reflection of my work, I also had some feedback but it is mostly the template itself that needed to change, using word I was able to find a new template to improve the overall structure of my CV to make it look more professional.
Draft 02:
That I would need to elaborate more of my skills, such as including previous projects of my courses and from other activities/previous experiences.
I need to add more links including a create Britain profile and a video link to YouTube, the more links I have, the better I can present and sell myself to the employer by making myself standout more.
